What is the aim of the project?

The aim is to invite people from our local community to work together to grow food, share and learn new skills enjoy the outdoors, and make new friends.  

 

Would you like to volunteer at the allotment?

There will be many opportunities to volunteer at the community allotment - as and when you feel like it and whenever you have some spare time.  

 

Time:

Tuesdays 10am-12pm and 3:30pm-5:30pm / Saturdays 2pm-5pm

The address for the site: Terrace Road, Walton-on-Thames, KT12 2DY. The entrance gate is opposite Tithe Close.

 

What else can you get involved with?

We would also love to see you on Saturday 16 April from 10.00am to 12 noon for our first BIG DIG day on the Terrace Road.   

All tools and materials are provided - just bring practical shoes and gloves if possible. Come join in the Fun!

The Big Dig is a nationwide project, which aims to get more people involved in community food-growing. Further details are available on their website: http://www.bigdig.org.uk/

 

How can Paragon residents get involved and volunteer at the allotment?

As part of your involvement we will ensure that you won’t be out of pocket.  

We will provide transport to and from the site when the sessions are taking place.

Local Area Forums are made up of Paragon residents from across the borough who work together with staff and local partners to improve their neighbourhoods and services they receive.

Each forum has a maximum of 20 residents, who are active representatives in between meetings, and the sessions are attended by local Neighbourhood Coordinators, organisations, and other Paragon staff. The forums lead on raising relevant local issues, reviewing service delivery and highlighting other issues in their area.

This forum covers Elmbridge borough, including Walton, Hersham, Molesey and Esher areas.

This youth club is for residents in the Hampton area aged 7-12 to enjoy an evening each week with qualified youth workers. Different activities are selected each week, chosen by the young people and based around a social or educational background. We are looking for volunteers who are interested in getting involved in youth work and who would like to volunteer at our Fulmer Close youth club. If you’re interested please contact us.

Those who are completely new to computers

Designed for learners who are completely new to computers, this course will teach delegates how
to use a computer from the very start. The key to this course is that there will be no assumption
of knowledge. Your Attigo tutor will cover the following:

  • Starting with the Internet
