If you have any questions or difficulties paying your rent, or if you fall behind with payments please contact the Income team immediately. The sooner we know about your difficulties, the more likely it is that we will be able to help you.

You can also contact our Welfare Benefits team who can help you understand how you might be affected by the ongoing benefit changes and offer you advice about welfare benefits. They can also help get you further advice on money management and which of the following options below you can utilise.

2 Maximising your income

Payplan offers a fresh approach to dealing with financial difficulties. PayPlan, UK's largest provider of free debt solutions, including free debt management plans. There are lots of great money management tools on their website and you can contact them free on 0800 280 2816.

7 Bank accounts and Credit Unions

Information is available from us about accessing basic bank accounts and other financial products. If you need any help with this please contact our Welfare Benefits Service. Different bank accounts can offer different benefits as well as penalties for things like unauthorised overdrafts. A simple bank account is often easiest.

Credit unions are not for profit financial co-operatives owned and run by their members for their members. They offer savings and great value loans and they are local.
