Sheltered housing

We provide a range of good-quality, flexible sheltered and supported homes and support services, tailored to the needs of our residents.

We regularly review these services in consultation with residents and other stakeholders. We do this to make sure that our services enable and promote residents to keep their independence and that they meet the changing needs of the local authorities in which they are provided.

We specialise in providing independent living with support when it is needed and emergency out-of-hours cover. Each of our schemes (spread across the boroughs of Richmond, Wandsworth and Elmbridge) are specifically designed for those at, or approaching, retirement age.

Bradshaw House - Zone 2 

Bishops Hill, Walton on Thames, KT12 2PT (including The Bowling and Bishops Hill)

Idyllically positioned in well-maintained grounds and close to the day centre. Walton town centre with all its amenities is a five minute walk one way and you can stroll along the Thames in the other direction. Bradshaw and Bishop Hill have a mix of 62 one- and two-bedroom flats. The Bowling has 14 one- and two- bedroom flats

 

Chaddesley – Zone 1

Portmore Park Road, Weybridge, KT13 8HA

These select self-contained flats in Weybridge are convenient for the shops, health centre, buses, and churches. There is a lovely rear garden and, for the more energetic, an easy walk to the River Wey and Weybridge centre. Chaddesley has a friendly environment where you can join in the social functions and meet new people or simply enjoy the peace of your own home.

Churchfield House – Zone 1

Lushington Drive, Cobham, KT11 2LX

Self contained one-bedroom flats in Cobham comprising 98 residential flats and three two-bedded guest flats for visiting friends or relatives. Conveniently situated opposite Cobham centre and village hall and very close to shops, supermarket and bus stops. Churchfield offers independent living with varied social activities.

City Wharf House – Zone 3

Ditton Reach, Thames Ditton, KT7 0XB

A modern unit of self-contained flats on a prestigious site, directly overlooking the River Thames. City Wharf has an active social club providing regular outings and events. Local amenities include a bank, shops, pubs and a garage, which stocks all basic goods. There is a frequent bus service to Kingston and Surbiton.

Clayton House – Zone 2

Situated in Long Ditton and close to Hinchley Wood, Clayton House has 27 one-bedroom flats. It is close to local village shops and nearby bus services to Surbiton, Kingston, Claygate and Esher. Various social activities are offered to residents including bingo, coffee mornings, darts and cards evenings, monthly suppers and coach outings.

Portmore Park Road, Weybridge, KT13 8HA

Set in lawned, shrubbed and flowered gardens off a main road, this Weybridge scheme of 41 double and single flats is situated very close to all local amenities. Residents can rest assured they will be part of a sociable and caring community, whilst maintaining their independence.

Homefield – Zone 1

94 Molesey Road, Hersham, KT12 4RE

Well served by buses and a train station, this Hersham community of 57 flats offers easy access to neighbouring towns and shopping centres. Nearby amenities include a post office, library, supermarket, pubs, restaurants, churches and Hersham centre all within walking distance. 

Kemble Close – Zone 1

St Mary's Road, Weybridge, KT13 9PS

Located in the heart of Oatlands Village, Weybridge, Kemble consists of 21 single and four double self-contained flats for independent living. It is convenient for local shops and has a regular bus service to Walton and Weybridge. Weekly social functions include bingo, darts and coffee mornings.

Manor Court – Zone 2

High Street, West Molesey, KT8 2LZ

Ideally located in West Molesey, Manor Court is an easy short walk to the local shops, a bank, pharmacist, dentist and church. The local annexe to Kingston hospital is also just five minutes away. Only 10 minutes by bus from Hampton Court Station, the scheme is also on the main bus routes to Walton, Esher, Thames Ditton, Surbiton and Kingston. There is a very friendly atmosphere and pleasant garden, plus a full social calendar of activities.

Paul Vanson Court – Zone 1

New Berry Lane, Hersham, KT12 4HQ

Set within pleasant grounds and ideally located off Hersham Green, Paul Vanson Court is very close to a supermarket, a doctors' surgery, a pharmacy, post office and local churches. The 54 flats for single residents and also couples are a short ten-minute walk from the day centre. There are two guest rooms for visitors and a visiting mobile library and hairdressing service. Regular social activities include coffee mornings, bingo, whist and snooker.

St Catherine's – Zone 1

Beales Lane, Thames Street, Weybridge, KT13 9JS

A small and friendly scheme of 25 residents situated in Weybridge with some social activities to which you would be made most welcome. A ten-minute walk will take you to the shops in Weybridge High Street and Weybridge centre, whilst in the other direction is the River Thames with nice views of the weir.

St Helen's – Zone 2

Weston Green Road, Thames Ditton, KT7 0JD

Located near the village of Thames Ditton in a tranquil setting, St Helen's has 19 one-bedroom single flats and eight one-bedroom double flats. It lies within easy reach of the local health centre, library, train station and bus stops which serve the main towns of Kingston and Guildford, as well as Surbiton, Esher, Hersham and Molesey.

The Firs – Zone 2

Hare Lane, Claygate, KT10 0NW

Ideally located in Claygate, The Firs offers easy access to shops, medical centre and Claygate centre. There are regular buses to Esher, Kingston Hospital, Kingston Centre and Roehampton and a train station within walking distance. Independent living at The Firs does not mean isolation as the social committee organises a wide range of social events offering something for everyone.

The Limes – Zone 2

Spreighton Road, Molesey, KT8 2PZ

A popular scheme with 61 flats and a pleasant inner garden, with easy access to all the amenities in Molesey. The River Thames is an enjoyable 15-minute walk away. The Limes has a friendly atmosphere and a range of various social functions and trips.

How do I apply for sheltered housing with Paragon?

We have an open waiting list for our sheltered housing schemes.To be eligible to apply for a sheltered scheme you need to be 55 years old or over and you will need to complete an application form. All offers of accommodation to our sheltered schemes are subject to a successful assessment of your needs.

Schemes

Diana House – Lonsdale Road, Barnes, SW13 9QP – Zone 3

Purpose built sheltered-housing scheme, comprising of 33 homes for rent. Built in 1984, Lonsdale Road runs alongside the river Thames and Diana House is situated within Walnut Tree Close, a general needs housing scheme we also own and manage. Diana House is within 15 minutes of Barnes High Street in one direction and within 20 minutes of Hammersmith Bridge with all its amenities. The scheme has 33 self-contained flats (25 single-person, self-contained bedsits and seven one-bedroom flats). Facilities include a communal lounge, laundry, grounds, guest room, lift and car park. Tenants of Diana House are encouraged to become involved in the local Walnut Tree Close Residents Association. There are also activities for residents held at the scheme.

Dyers Lane – Barnes, SW15 6JS – Zone 3

A 20-home scheme, re-converted and completely upgraded in 1997. Good location and good size flats. There are some 2-bedroom flats a this scheme which are prioritised for older people with live in carers. Situated off the Upper Richmond Road, Dyers Lane consists of six one-bedroom and 14 two-bedroom flats. A few flats overlook the Upper Richmond Road while others overlook a courtyard which has a central planted area. There is communal parking, including one disabled space. The remaining spaces are non allocated for tenants and visitors.

Trinity Church Road – (Block 10 & 12) – Barnes, SW13 8EF – Zone 3

Trinity Church Road is off Castlenau, Barnes. It is situated on the Harrods Village estate and comprises three three-bedroom houses for general needs letting, and 12 one-bedroom flats for older people. There are communal grounds consisting of garden areas and a car park with non-allocated spaces for tenants and visitors. The development is centrally located, with good transport services, and very close to Hammersmith Bridge and shopping areas.

Julian Court – Grange Road, Barnes, SW13 9RB – Zone 3

Julian Court is located in a quiet road 10 minutes from Barnes Pond and the High Street. The scheme consists of one two-bedroom flat and six single-person, self-contained flats. The communal facilities include a lounge, laundry, garden and a car park with non-allocated spaces for tenants and visitors. Julian Court is owned by the Julian Memorial Trust (part of the Quintus Housing Trust) and is managed by Richmond upon Thames Churches Housing Trust.

Oak House – 6 Carlton Drive, Putney, SW15 2BZ – Zone 3

Oak House is situated on a lovely residential road off Putney Hill and Putney High Street is approximately 10 minutes away. The scheme has a communal lounge, laundry facilities, single and double guest rooms, a lift, communal grounds and a car park with non-allocated spaces for tenants and visitors. There are 24 one bedroom flats and one two bedroom flat over five storeys. There is a good social atmosphere with regular activities and social events. 

22 Carlton Drive – Putney, SW15 2BN – Zone 3

The scheme is very well located. Situated on the same road as Oak House, this scheme has a communal lounge, laundry, guest room, a lift, communal grounds and a car park with non-allocated spaces for tenants and visitors. There are 14 single-person, self-contained flats and one 1-bedroom flat over four storeys. Centrally located, Putney High Street is approximately 10 minutes away and there are good bus and train services. 

Wickham House – 29 Kersfield Road, Putney, SW15 3HH – Zone 3

This scheme is approximately 30 minutes away from Putney High Street. It is close to bus routes going into town and very close to Wimbledon Park and Common. The scheme has a communal lounge, laundry facilities, guest room, a lift, communal grounds and a car park with non-allocated spaces for tenants and visitors. There are 21 single-person, self-contained flats and three one-bedroom flats. There are three floors in the building. 

Chestnut House – Putney, SW15 3LH – Zone 3
Extra-care sheltered housing

A 41-flat, purpose-built extra-care scheme at Chestnut House in Wandsworth opened in 2008. This extra-care scheme allows residents to remain independent and enjoy the privacy of their own home. It provides the added reassurance of a staff call-system, a security CCTV entrance system and a flexible individually-tailored package of care and support, provided by staff available 24 hours a day. The individual packages are approved by a joint assessment panel made up of representatives from The London Borough of Wandsworth, RuTCHT and the care providers. The communal facilities consist of lounge and conservatory, library/quiet room, assisted bathroom, hairdressers, laundry room, non-allocated parking spaces for tenants and visitors, a wheelchair store-room, guest room, and environmentally-friendly gardens. To be considered for a tenancy at Chestnut House, you and/or your partner must:

  • be aged 55 years or over, and
  • be assessed by Wandsworth Council’s Adult Social Services Department as needing care or support.

Alberta Court – 2 Princes Road, Richmond, TW10 6DY – Zone 3

Alberta Court is situated in a quiet street approximately five minutes away from central Richmond. It was re-converted and completely upgraded in 1996 to 22 fully self-contained flats (mainly one-bedroom), with two two-bedroom flats and three bedsits over two storeys. The scheme has a communal laundry, car park with non-allocated parking spaces for tenants and visitors, and lovely communal courtyard areas. 

Bishop Court – 114 Kew Road, Richmond, TW9 2AG – Zone 3

A 34-flat scheme. It was converted in early 1980s. The location of the scheme is excellent - 10 minutes from all the facilities of central Richmond and public transport. There are 15 single-person, self-contained flats and 18 one-bedroom flats. There are four floors in the building with a lift serving the ground and upper floors. The scheme’s communal facilities include a lounge, laundry, guest room, car park with non-allocated parking spaces for tenants and visitors, and gardens. Regular social activities include quiz afternoons, coffee mornings, and the occasional outing.

Kingsbury House – 10 Kings Road, Richmond, TW10 6NW – Zone 3

The scheme comprises 17 flats and was developed in 1991 by complete conversion and upgrading of the building. Kingsbury House is situated at the top end of Kings Road. It is approximately 10 minutes away from Richmond Park and views of the River Thames. Kingsbury House consists of five single-person, self-contained flats, 11 one-bedroom flats and one two-bedroom flat. There are four floors in the building which are served by a lift from basement to upper floors. The communal facilities are lounge, laundry room, guest room, car park with non-allocated parking spaces for tenants and visitors, and communal gardens. 

 

Canford Place – Munster Road, Teddington, TW11 9LE – Zone 3

25-home purpose-built scheme, comprising of 16 one-bedroom flats and nine one-bedroom bungalows. This is a very attractive scheme in a good residential area, near local shops and good public transport links. Canford Place is located approximately 20 minutes from Kingston,15 minutes from Teddington High Street and is near to bus routes. There are two floors in the scheme with a lift. The scheme has a communal laundry and gardens, guest room and non-allocated parking bays at the front of the building for tenants and visitors. 

Clonmel Road and Wilcox Road – Teddington, TW11 0SP – Zone 3

Clonmel Road and Wilcox Road is one scheme, but includes two buildings separated by a shared car park with non-allocated spaces for tenants and visitors. At Clonmel Road, there are four one-bedroom flats, and at Wilcox Road there are two one-bedroom and two two-bedroom flats. There are two floors in each building. 

Oval Court, Broad Street, Teddington, TW11 8QZ – Zone 3

A 10-flat, purpose-built scheme completed in 1994. Oval Court comprises six one-bedroom and four two-bedroom flats on the first and second floors (the ground floor contains shops). There is a lift. This scheme shares a resident manager with adjoining sales schemes at Bartons Court and Fishers Court. These are good sized flats in an excellent location for all facilities.

92 Wensleydale Road, Hampton, TW12 2LY – Zone 3

Wensleydale Road was re-developed in 2005. It consists of 17 one-bedroom flats and three two-bedroom flats. There are two blocks to this development with two floors in each block served by lifts. The scheme has communal grounds and a car park with non-allocated spaces for tenants and visitors. It is close to public transport and shops. 

23 Rydens Avenue, Walton, KT12 3NS – Zone 1

23 Rydens Avenue was re-developed in 2004. The scheme consists of four one-bedroom and four two-bedroom flats over two floors. There is a lift in the building. Other communal facilities include a lounge, garden areas and car park with non-allocated spaces for tenants and visitors.
